Description
The Alamo dates back to the early 1700's. It is part of a string of missions established by the Spaniards to bring Christianity to the Indians. The original name was "Mission San Antonio de Valero". The Alamo is etched in history as being the site of the bloody battle where the Mexican forces defeated the Texians on March 6th, 1836. From then on the cry of "Remember the Alamo" was forever the battle cry of the Republic of Texas. No other site in Texas is more dear than our beloved Alamo.
