Description
The Midway Drive-In is located east of Quitaque, “midway” between Turkey and Quitaque, Texas. This drive-in opened in 1955 with a capacity for 250 cars. It was operated by C.C. Hamm & Harry Burnhill who operated the Gem Theatre in Turkey.
In 1987 the Midway Drive-In closed and remained closed for thirteen years. Under new ownership it opened again in May of 2000. The Midway Drive-In did not open for the 2005 season but has reopened since 2006. It was closed again in 2014.
